This form notifies the Graduate Admissions office of your intent to apply for a Graduate Assistant position. Should you have any questions about the graduate admission process or your admission status, please contact Melissa Nye in Graduate Admissions at 419-448-2062 or email

I understand that prior to being offered a graduate assistant position I must meet all admission requirements for the applied graduate program and be accepted by the program director. The steps for admittance include the following:

  1. Apply for a graduate program and submit all required admissions documents.
  2. Apply for the graduate assistant position via online employment application and submit any required materials.
  3. Receive notification of graduate program acceptance.
  4. Receive notification of graduate assistantship position offering.
  5. Human Resources contacts applicant with background check authorization form.
  6. Applicant receives GA position appointment packet from Human Resources.
  7. Applicant completes and submits paperwork to Human Resources.
  8. Residence Life contacts applicant with living arrangements.
  9. Hiring office maintains contact with GA.

I understand that to maintain a hired position as a graduate assistant, I must:

  • be fully matriculated in a master's degree program at Heidelberg University;
  • be a full time student, maintaining a minimum of nine (9) credits per semester, and a maximum of twelve (12) credits per semester;
  • maintain at least a 3.0 GPA during each semester of the assistantship;
  • fulfill twenty hours per week for up to two years.
