Appeal of Academic Honesty Violation

Students wishing to appeal the decision of a violation of academic honesty from the Associate Vice President for Academic Administration (AVPAA) and/or Investigative Panel should submit an appeal form within 30 business days. An appeal may be made when there is new evidence, when proper procedures were not followed, or when the penalty involves suspension or dismissal from the University. The appeal will be reviewed by the Undergraduate Academic Policy Committee (UAPC) or Graduate Studies Committee (GSC); the representative for UAPC or GSC that served on the original investigative panel will recuse themselves from all discussion of the appeal. The AVPAA or designee will inform the student and instructor of the outcome within 30 business days of the receipt of the appeal.

Appeal Rationale
In 500 words or less, provide an appeal rationale that includes details regarding new evidence, what procedures were not followed, or a request to appeal the suspension or dismissal from the University. In situations where documented evidence is available, please submit copies to the Associate Vice President for Academic Administration at vohl@heidelberg.edu. Include your name, student ID, and a notation the documents are accompanying the appeal of academic honesty violation.

Once the form is submitted, the Associate Vice President for Academic Administration will be notified of the appeal. The Associate Vice President for Academic Administration will notify you as soon as a decision is rendered.
